Unknown wire coming from rear centre console

Discovered this today. Any idea what it's for? Feels more like an electrical wire rather than a something like a boot release.

Is it attached to the demist switch?

Not sure. It does look like it goes in that direction, I tried to see if I could get in there but seemed to require more time than I have at the moment to go looking, thought it might be a known thing. Demister is a strong possibility, the panel with the roof controls and demister button was loose, perhaps someone's been in here trying to get it to work and gave up.
