I reckon that's why grilles are getting bigger and more hideous. The styling of most cars these days is becoming very generic - take the badges off a few SUVs, line them up and try to guess the manufacturer. Big shouty grilles are the only method that car makers seem to use these days to tell their cars apart.. By way of example I find BMW styling alarmingly similar to the latest Kias. Apart from the grille, where Kia are a lot more subtle.....The reason I have spent the last 24 years driving an mx5 and now a Z3 is I like the slightly retro distinctive looks. Yeah, I remember one of our little group of mates buying a Honda CB250 when the rest had BSA C15/B25s or 2 stroke stuff like Francis Barnetts or Ariel Arrows. Everyone took the p*ss big time. But his little Honda didn't leak oil, started every time with its electric start and, with a pair of megaphones fitted, sounded immense. Guess who had the last laugh......
