I have a 77 tr7 out back that a friend gave me. Was red but now black, haven't had time to play with it yet but it's not a convert so no leaks. Fairly low milage as I remember as it wasn't used since the mid 80's. JIM
Just having The Z3 TR4 to keep going is enough for me. Age catches up with you and with my garden which you may remember got trashed by cows at night just before Christmas which I going to cost about £4000 to put stright but covered by farmers ins. work due to start soon when the weather dries up.Hi Geoff, no club membership but agree the 7&8 was not up to the previous standards. I also have a spare engine and trans I got for free as the owner was installing a V8 chev motor and trannie. I can't possibly live long enough for all the projects I have but top of my list is the 190sl merc which will get some OEM rear quarters this year as well as an OEM tan hood. Then there's my 77 mini to get going on, bought for $200 CDN been offered over 7k it's so rust free. Just a couple of holes to weld up. And the list could go for quite a lenghth so will quit here! JIM
I remember as a kid in the 70's this chap a few doors down used to have a TR7 and I used to be in such wow of it, nice chap though being so he used to put up with this pesky kid. Hopefully you will show some pics or a work in progress of it Jim would be lovely to see.Hi Geoff, no club membership but agree the 7&8 was not up to the previous standards. See what I can do this spring after the snow's gone!! Shouldn't take much to get it mobile even though it has sat for a long time. Some kids pulled all the wires from the ignition switch so that's the first thing on the list to do. My shop is almost insulated should finish now that I'm feeling better health wise!! ...and also because it wasn't as rugged or as powerful as those that preceded it.The thing is the TR7 was the car that out sold any other in the history of of Triumph
the car it's self is a worthy car way ahead of other car manufacturers, in design and safety but received a bad reputation because of all
the union strikes at the time, and lack of interest and enthusiasm for manufacturing by the workers at the time.
