Tution best modification you money can buy. Great driving - are you planning doing Donnington agin?
If I do, it will be in an old banger. What I found was that it is not how fast you go that matters, but your consistency.
My lap times ranged from 1:33 to 1:42. I know traffic is a factor, but it shouldn't make more than a couple of seconds difference - watch BrianH (Cadwell was 1:50, 1:51, 1:49, 1:52, 1:51, 1:53)
Better to be 1:40 to 1:42 than 1:33 to 1:40
.
Also, I've done two trackdays and run out of talent twice
. Once was about £1000 worth of gravel rash (minor off at Coppice), the other was a cracked bumper and number plate (£35 for a new number plate). The 2nd one was "exciting". Over did it at McLean's, lost grip rear, front stuck and I was spat onto the grass on the inside, managed to get the car parallel to the Armco, slithered along the grass with Armco beside me, heading towards a barrier at Coppice, which I dinked at about 5mph.
