Does this thing manage to get you access to any bolts on a Z3 you would otherwise need to dismantle stuff from around to access?

Or is it just a knuckle saver? Perhaps I'm a bit weird but I think cuts and bruises are part of the game. Here's my latest one when a scalpel slipped. I was quite proud of the precision I demonstrated there, getting a flesh wound rather than removing my entire finger tip :)

I've had a lot of near misses come to think of it. Like the angle grinder that cut through my glove but missed my finger. And the engine crane that I had to catch with a 2.2 engine and box hanging from it that fell sideways as I moved it on a slight slope.

It's only a matter of time before I do something more serious. My other half is always spotting damage and telling me to be more careful. I'm not error prone or clumsy really. I just tend to do jobs with an old fashioned get on with it approach.

They may be expensive, but for the ease of access they give you at times they're 'kin wonderful. Wish I'd had one years ago, even now that I'm not doing the job full time mine keeps coming in handy. Had a reply from Trust Parts, will soon have a new adaptor, may invest in a couple of spares just in case, if I've got some spare should never need one, that's the way things normally go.

Tite Reach can get to things that are really awkward to get to without, it just means you can work on something without having to get right into a tight space. Todays FWD cars are so tightly packed under the bonnet there's bound to be use for one, have yet to use mine on the Z but it's only a matter of time. Used to be a mechanic for a living for 30 odd years, lost a fair bit of skin in that time, these tools won't prevent that happening, just reduce the number of times it'll happen. Hope that makes sense, not trying to sell these tools, just pointing out how wonderful they are.
And as for engine cranes falling over, one place I worked at lost their transport manager when he sold his electric pottery kiln, loaded it onto a van using the tail-lift, and the kiln started sliding back towards him. The di**head only tried to save it.:bag: Kiln landed on top of him, wound up extremely dead. In front of the wife and kids, too. Not strictly relevant, I know, but you can't rely on being lucky all the time.

I have the same kind of fun with my tools also, however, I don't stop there. I've had similar fun using chain saws cutting my firewood the last 45 years............Frankie

Thanks so much for the link. I've never seen that tool before!!!!! I could have used that many times especially on water pump and timing belt jobs on transverse engines like my wife's old honda. I can really see how they can save your knuckles. I especially like the part where it says "no more one click wrenching". How many times have I spent hours doing that especially when you've removed something and put it back on only to find out that you have to take it back off for one reason or another. The only down side is that in owning one of those tools and using it, I would have to deprive the neighbors of the benefit of my extensive vocabulary...................hmmmmmmmmm...........Frankie

Brilliant tool Frankie, like most new tools you just need to remember to use it.

Tony.
