According to Realoem the bolts fit all the diffs. If you look at the photos you will see the bolt patterns are the same on both the different diff covers. I’m positive but have a check before buying. cheers...I love 'em!... was planning to zinc and passivate my fixings but it'll take too damn long...these look epic.....and all that lot for 80 euros is amazing!

About time I’ve updated this thread before I loose any more photos.

keeping a car unsued and under cover does not to a favour for a lot of things, x1 trim dry rotted.

Updates to follow once I figure out how to resize pics on my phone or a night with the laptop. I was so techy at one point, signs of approaching the 60’s where I’m just going to moan at s***.

So onwards with the front end refurb.

Quite a few crusty bits removed from the front end

Power steering pipe work given some love

New wishbones came in some kind of grey zinc primer which is very soft and will be rusty as in a year

Given two coats of Etech chassis black, goes on well with a brush and roller

Front subframe given a clean up, no corrosion on it just some lifted paint, surfaced prepped and given a couple coats of the chassis paint. Steering rack cleaned up, new boots, inner and outer tie rods replaced with Myele HD items.

New engine mounts, I’ll see in time if they are too much with vibration but they do look the business the way they are made.

Underneath given a good clean and various items and brackets refurbished or replaced.

Fornt shocks were cleaned up and painted after installing Koni inserts. Built up with powder coated springs from Lee new hardware fitted of course Once more into the rabbit hole my friends.
I had waited a long time to obtain OEM top mounts from BMW.

Don’t those hubs look the dogs danglies, just cleaned up and chassis paint.

New back plates and FAG bearings

New discs and pads

Unfortunately the new EBC range are not all black anymore but the coating appears harder. I may give the rears a touch up of some grey epoxy primer to match up. What happens when you leave things a few years.

Refurbed calipers fitted. At this stage I stood back taking the photo and then it dawned on me what a guff I had made. Anyone spot it

@Althulas did you use an engine support mount for that or just jack up the gearbox? I need to tidy up my front subframe but was thinking of doing it in situ rather than support the engine.

I used an engine support, your more than most welcome to borrow mine but would need collecting.

Thank you mate but that's a long slog up from the South coast for me. It's only really the offside bit that's grubby, the rest is fine as it's covered in oil from the rocker gasket leak . I already have a new X brace and I've already redone the Anti roll bar, so that's all good to go on. I'll just take the angle grinder to it and tart it up as best I can.... cheers !

thank you mate.....next time I'm under there I'll look to see if I need to take it off or whether I can grind it back and paint in situ.... you know that if I do take it off I'll just HAVE to zinc plate the bolts... it's the law !

if you take it off you can check that there is no metal fatigue where the engine mounts are bolted down . The one on my 2.8 was so bad I had to replace it
