Time for a respray.

You will love it when it come back .... trust me

The chasis rails beneath the sill covers look in good shape Phil, are they going to fettle them while the covers are off ?. Worth doing at this stage.
Bet you can't wait to get it back.

You're right @Bozzy, the sills looked good. I have asked them to treat the car as if it were their own, so anything they find, they will deal with. They will treat the inside of the new sill covers before they go back on, and also make sure the sills have a good coating of protection too.

Shame she has to slum it for a few months ;)

Time for a quick update on this thread. After being messed about by my original choice of paint shop, I have found a new one. I think I got lucky here, because the new place is spot on. I have been told every panel will be coming off, and they will get the wheels sorted at the same time. It's going to cost a few hundred more, but will be a far better job. I called in today and they have started the strip down. :)

I have looked at the panels they have removed. The wings are saveable, but the sill covers are past it.

What do you do when you have a Zed shaped hole in your garage? Look after someone else's. I have been entrusted to look after @ZTec's beautiful Zed.

Looks a high end body shop. Those Bentley Bentayga’s look better crashed than new!

Your Z is definitely one of the classier cars there, the rest is just ‘new’ money, not like us old money folk eh ;)
How long before it’s done?

Knowing you that'll be a cracking job Jimmy:thumbsup: Yeah, Waxoyl's fun ain't it?, takes some getting shut of.

Tony.

I'm sure waxoyl does a great job Tony ,but boy it does stink now even 3 weeks later after I finished it,I did apply well over a gallon,so at least I know she ain't going rusty for a whileAnd also I had the dent man out whilst the rear arch liners out to get two tiny car pinking dings out off the rear quarters,I'm well chuffed now,as I'm sure Phil will be after his is done.

A mate from back in the day used to get loads of overtime at the Ford Dealer in Gainsborough staying late to spray new cars with a product called Dinitrol and knowing him he probably didn't bother with a mask or any of that "nancy" stuff either. I sometimes wondered if it contributed to his early demise (40).:(

Tony.

I had a lot of cars painted back in the day Phil, and on the (usually) Sunday morning I raced back from my Sunday morning milk round job to the outlaws garage where the de-masking and rebuilding began. I just know you'll be busting a gut with excitement before you get it back. Hope it the best job mate and I'll see you somewhere this year.

Tony.

Poor chap him,the days before health and saftey were here, sometimes it's there for a valid reason.
Jimmy.

Absolutely it is mate. I've been taking pictures all round the place I work ready for the S**t to hit the fan Jimmy. I'm bloody sick of all the platitudes and "we'll look into it" when they never do.

Tony.

He said around 2 months. I could see from my visit today, that there was a big queue for the paint shop. I can wait though, as I think they will do a pukka job.
