Problem over here is with the rules of the road, they have the right of way on a lot of roads but not all of them, so you have to keep a bloody good eye out as they just assume that they have the right of way on all roads.
Put it this way, driving back from work on a dark wet evening and approaching a round about, checking for cars coming on to the round about from the left and right (LHD)
Cycling lane runs in front of the round about all round it, all of a sudden you have a push bike in front of you with no lights, slam on the breaks and lucky to have the person behind you not hit you up the ass.
You hit one and you are in deep sh*** and they know it.....
