I keep getting them in my garden making a home under slabs round my pond and we see them most nights on our camera watching our hedge hogs. So today I put rat poisen down the hole that I filled in weeks ago and thought that we had got rid of them but as we have to farms is our village that have had sheep and cows they are to be expected. We see one going into hedge hog house for food most nights and running up one of our bird feeders by pond where I think they have made a home which is only about 25ft from our conservatory and dont want them coming in during the day when doors are open
To be fair you can't blame the rats when you are supplying a restaurant in the hedgehog house, a takeaway up the bird feeder and a pond for drinking and bathing , I
I'm almost tempted to move in myself

Only picture I have of Mack - the night I picked him up. Unusual for me not to have more. Only red 3.0 Sport I've ever seen. Really lucky to get this at a bargain price allowing me to keep a 3.0 Sport in each of Swindon & Swansea. It's Peanut the black one who is at risk from the rats. But at least he has a refurbed VANOS now to run away quicker.

I will say the only humane way to deal with rats is a bit of lead... right between the eyes .. poison is indiscriminate in what it does once it enters the food chain. As dead rats then go on to feed other wildlife.

This is a photo of one such visitor to my ducks living quarters. He was evicted later that day.. :ymdevil:

I have shot hundreds over the years, I have humane trap set all the time, no bait, it just sits and waits, every now and then my rifle is called for single shot to the head

Found this on Google..
We would recommend a distance of around five to ten miles, but the closer you to get to ten miles, the better.

I am now told that having hedge hogs in the garden is the reason that there are no frogs in my pond as they eat them, must say I do like a frogs leg in garlic but not out of my pond=))

I used to have a table top game called "splat the rat". Perhaps could invent a version with live ones; likely recommend outside use only.;)
