Well having had no interest when trying to sell my 1.9, I've decided to keep her, fit a second hand roof, fit 2.2 brake carriers and discs and yellow stuff pads (and better brake fluid) - for starters.

I also have plenty of tyres spare from my track clio 172 that has gone to the race track in the sky.

The wife was delighted when I collected these in the family wagon. 15 inch, but 'just' fit over the brakes.

Can't wait to get out on the track again.

Good luck and hope the Zed does not join the Clio

This is what happened to the last guy who tried to keep up with my clio, then I killed it the next track day!

The plan is also to combine these!

Let me know if you ever down in Lydden or even Brands.
Would love to see.
Just remember this Z may bite (though a Clio can bite too, never had FWD car that could oversteer so much! Still want another).

this one might get broken then broken!
Well mate at least you have an outlet for the remains if it all goes a bit Pete Tong.;) Looking forwards to hearing how you do. Stay safe Andy.

Tony.

Started the prep properly today, got the blue roof off my Estoril 2.2 that I'm breaking so that it can be my mate's daily drive and my track toy.

Got some 15 inch wheels and decent track day tyres fitted, not semi slick, but better that road tyres.

Just got to get the bigger 2.2 front carriers and discs on, with some yellow stuff pads, change the fluid, fit the OEM roll hoops and get it there! Hardest part done - getting a 12 hour pass from the gaffa!

Never noticed this vein before!

Stole the carriers from the 6 cyl donor car tonight.

And ordered a set of Bosch front brakes, didn't like the look of these discs. Nearly went for these cheap Mintex on eBay, but thought the extra £25 for Bosch would be wise, I never know if it's worth it, the expensive discs and pads on my 172 wore out really quickly anyway.

Also, got a set of Wezmoto braided brake hoses on the way.

Getting a bit carried away I think!

Nice one Andy, watching with interest mate.

Reading in your post re braided brake hoses, I think I may invest in some of those although I never did on my Z3, but this one is a fair bit quicker needs more stopping power so those and some better pads may be the order of the day. Be nice to see Dino's comments and hopefully pictures too. Good luck.

By vein do you mean the rubber strip that's under the sealing frame and appears to channel water to the the 'gutter' at each end where water drains down?
I don't remember seeing that on mine either. It shows up as rubber gasket on REALOEM.

That's the one, not seen one before
