The Oxford Elf - #33

Looks like they got the weather forecast right - just had the dogs out for their last walk of the day ❄️

The febi washer pump turned up this morning courtesy of Royal Mail.

The washer bottle was already off the car - for the last couple of days it's been taking up half the floor of my office it's that bloody big 🤣

So I replaced the old pump with the new one and with most of the snow melted fitted it back on the car.

I'd already recycled the screen wash I'd drained out in to the Tesla because that had thrown up a fluid level low warning but I had a new 5 litre bottle in the garage.

Poured about 4 litres in to the bottle and it only looked half full but suspect that will be plenty for the foreseeable - always amazes me how big BMW made the washer bottles on the Zeds.

Anyway switched on the ignition to give it a go and hey presto we have lift off - now I just need the weather to improve so I can use it anger 👍

Wheels look mucky Garrie, oh I forgot, they are that colour.;)
Everything's loppy at the minute - every time I get back I have to get the hosepipe out.

Anyway I'm loving the black and as someone mentioned every trip out feels like a military endeavour 🤣

Had the bonett insulation off today just to check the washer jet's weren't leaking after I'd replaced the washer motor last week.

I'd noticed some dampness on the insulation so just wanted to be sure but all was fine 👍

As is usually the case I managed to snap some of fastners and didn't have enough spares so I'll probably give Sytner Sheffield a call on the special high value customer # I have for them - yes it's the 0114 main reception number 😉

It certainly looks a nice tidy buy for the price. You didn't fancy getting the other one back for the third time then ??

Thats another 12 months on The Elf although I did wonder where they'd been in it when I looked at the government's website - no way has it done 70k miles in the last year 🤣

Fortunately before I picked it up they had updated the error and were very complimentary on the condition of the car and even commented on the number of preventative maintenance jobs that had obviously been completed.

Often come across mistakes on Government vehicle/licence documents. Seen these mot mileage discrepancies lots of times and my driving licence has had incorrect information for years.
