I reckon Dave's just applied a heat shrink baldy cap to protect a full head of hair.........so as not to mess it up on Saturday when his roof's down all day .

Steve
He's a tin top sadly, though he has threatened to take his sunroof out if it's sunny.

I will be going from Yorkshire but driving up
Friday night after work hope it only takes 21/2hours on M62:(
M61:( M6:( but needs must.
That'll really hurt on a Friday night mate. I don't envy you that one!

Thanks mate:mad: looked at various options but think we

On a serious note I would leave yours as late as possible. How long will it take you? 3 hours? I'd leave at 7 then you should have a clear run by then. If you leave 5-6 you'll only land at the same time anyway.

We're starting out 8ish Friday morning and hope to get there the same day =))

Google maps says it 400 miles door to door to our hotel. The M5 is usually ok but M6 north of West Brom is usually like a car park, but we should hit the M6 around mid day hopefully and fingers crossed I'm hoping the north bound traffic is kind to us.

With a couple of stops we should be there around 6ish

I think there are big road works on M5 J10, got held up for ages when I went down to Shepton Mallet last year. Once you're past Blackpool the M6 should open up. Safe trip.

Thanks Andy, There are a couple of current roadworks on M5 at the moment but the traffic was flowing ok last Saturday morning. I drive to the Black Country every 6 weeks or so but haven't ventured north of Stafford on M6 for years

@Jack Ratt You might come across a convoy of Zeds heading from Strensham services about 10.30 am @Mr C @mid life crisis and myself..
What sort of time do you estimate passing the Stafford area Paul?

Edit - just worked out if you leave Strensham @ 10:30 you'll pass us about 11:45 - 12:00.

@Mint Good question. I would imagine that if the M5 and lower M6 are flowing hopefully about and hour on from Strensham. So about 11.30. We are aiming to have a late lunch in the Lakes.. well we can try and storm the M6 en mass..

3hr 55mins :(:(

Well its 282 miles to kendal for me. I think the winner will be @Jack Ratt all the way up from way down west.
