We are considering going back for the last weekend of the month, Carrie is going to try and find a BnB

We stayed here http://www.lyndhurstcountryhouse.co.uk/ it's in Newby Bridge, clean, comfortable and good breakfast. The owners both have MGs and are interested in cars. Pub with meals just down the road but not much else within walking distance. You may be better in Windermere if you are looking to spend the evening there. Hope this helps.
