Change of plans. Rain forecast for Friday so we are going to drive over on Saturday morning. Should take about 2 hours.
Now staying over near the north lakes (The Old Ginn House,between Cockermouth and Workington) and hoping for sun so we can get a nice drive on Sunday, maybe Honister Pass.
I'm circa 13 miles south at Whitehaven, I'll be heading that way at ENDEX.

My only doubt, other than weather, is the traffic. I drove around that area a couple of months ago it was a weekday and fairly quiet. What's it like this time of year on a Sunday?

From the end poor at Pooley Bridge to your end point will be a clear run as the A66 & A595 are good wide roads, more so on a Sunday even at this time of year.

Edit: Just read that again. Been over Honister many times on weekdays and weekends, never been an issue with lots of traffic. Summer obviously has more but never been held up.

I'll get the children out on a sun dance mate ........ if I can;

1. Get them out of bed
2. Get them off their electronic devices
:cool:

Good luck with that Andy!
Years of bitter experience shows that you're on to a looser there. Kids turn nocturnal. Allergic to any kind of natural light.
Beer and pizza can sometimes be used as an inducement but even that soon wears off.

No worries...we have also been forced to change our plans because the hotel we booked has a burst pipe and is flooded. The alternative they have found us is further south in Dalton-in-Furness....not ideal but the only option other than cancelling the trip. :(

We'll be at the Clarence House Hotel. 20 minutes is fine but the original hotel was only 5 minutes from the museum.

Can't be cancelling the trip can we!! Surprised you even contemplated it. Definitely not an option now that the sun has been arranged.

Today I will mostly be washing my Zed in the rain because she's a tad dirty. By the time I get off the wet farm track and to the start point she will be dirty again but there's no excuse for leaving in a dirty car :D

Spent last Saturday cleaning interior and washing exterior then Wednesday polishing, thankfully weather forecast is good. looking forward to a great day out. See you tomorrow am.
Cheers Phil
