Firstly Welcome to 2017... Happy New Year to you all.

UPDATE as of 1st January 2017.

The contact at Hockenheim is away till the 8th January. Typical. Options are.. To drive from Sleneken to the Hockenheim track and have an evening tour and parade laps with photos on the Monday 12th June or spend part of the following day waiting to be fitted in as we had at SPA. I would think that driving a track in the evening would be something different. Options for the run are listed below. If you like the distances involved please say so, if not... also please say so !!!.... Its not easy trying to organise these things at a distance. Would those that have visited the areas please PM me so that we can include some nice places to stop and enjoy.

Standard on both ideas.

Friday .. Folkestone

Saturday to Sleneken

Sunday with the Dutch Limborit run

Monday - Sleneken to Hockenheimring 206miles

Tuesday - Hocekheim to Metz 284miles

Then we have two options which I would think having the shorter run on the Thursday would be better.

Option 1

Wednesday - Metz to Mons 179miles

Thursday - Mons to Euro Tun 118miles

Option 2

Wednesday - Metz to Lille 217miles

Thursday - Lille to Euro Tun 70.7miles

The Euro tunnel then would be late morning as in 2016 on the Saturday 10th June to France and returning late morning again on the Thursday 15th June to give those with an onward journey time to get home.

Please can we have a show of hands... lol.. ok.. Comments :thumbsup:

Thank you.

I will be updating this on a regular basis but I am concerned about getting the booking on the crossings to and from France asap.

Paul suits me I'll be leaving the cruise on the Tuesday morning to head on down through Germany so Monday at the track would be great for me, I'm booked on the Euro star at 10.36 Sat 10th as part of my holiday package.

Paul just a thought for you. Have you considered maybe Hockenheim to Ulrichen Switzerland and in one day you can do 3 to 4 passes. Susten, Furka, Grimsel and Nufenen Then Ulrichen to Epinal and then to the Tunnel would only add one additional day Just a thought

Happy new year lets hope it's better than 2000 and shitsteen.just a thought,we have been to Metz and it's just another big city unless you have a specific reason for visiting.Im much more in favour of the grand ballon or as billz says a visit to Switzerland

@miller1098 It was just an idea of a route for gauging distances and then asking for ideas regarding locations etc. I like the idea of a few mountain passes in Switzerland too.

You can do the Grand Ballon on the way to Epinal from Ulrichen. We have done that a few times and is easily doable with plenty of time to stop

Hockenheim to Ulrichen via the Furka is around 280 miles 5.5hrs you will return via the Grimsel and Sustenpasse enroute to the Grand ballon approx 200 miles 4.5hrs. You will need Swiss Vignettes around 37 euro. An excellent hotel to stop at in Switzerland is the Hotel Astoria, Big balcony to sit and watch the world go by while drinking beers it also has a large car park

Me,Mozza @MAURICE THE MARTIAN and hopefully Brian @zedwheels will be staying at the Astoria when we go to the Alps in July before we head to the Grand Ballon enroute to the Tunnel

You will get photo opportunities and views like these.

I would be happy with either option but would be happier with the diversion to Switzerland, I don' have anything planned there this year.

If you like driving the Zeds then once you have a taste of the Alps you will want to do it again

Every time we go the trips get longer and longer =)) The one we are doing this year we are in the Alps for 9 Nights

As bill says.down to oberwald area is an easy diversion and the three passes mentioned some of the best .we did it easy last year .An i know Dan (Zeti) enjoyed em all..And tbh i never tire of doing them bit different everytime
Hmmmmm
Not got mi name down yet.
Will b giving this sum serios consideration on mi return to uk

Just a thought ,but how about staying the night before doing the swis passes somewhere about a 1/2 hour drive away the night before I don't really want to do them after a long day driving.Driving up the Grimsel pass is to be relished and maybe take in the panorama strasse and the old gottard pass is something you will never and I mean never forget.
