I drove to Niall's home this morning and after some chitchat we drove into town for a late english breakfast and then on to meet up with Niall's lovely ///M housed in it's own stable.

@Nodzed - Niall offered to polish my Zed after treating the wheels with "Dragons Breath" followed by a jet wash. Niall made a start with the bonnet while I made a started removing as little as possible to enable me to fit my newly acquired red leather boomerangs it soon became clear that most of the centre console need to be removed and a second pair of hands was needed.
After a brew we got back to it to complete the job and I'm more that pleased with the result.
A great improvement on the original black plastic ones.

I would like to put on record without Niall's help I would have given up on the job.
Thanks mate. Much appreciated.
As the polishing didn't get completed I offered to leave my Zed in the stable and drive home in the ///M and I was politely told that wasn't going to happen :banghead:
O well you can't blame a man for trying.

As ever you're welcome.

there a real pain to swap over, the whole console has to come out, i had mine out sunday morning to swap it back over to wood, first time took about 3 hours, now i can swap them in about 45 min. everything has to be unplugged, and it can be awkward to get it over the handbrake during removal, then you find you have to remove the window switches to get at the last screws holding the boomerangs on, what a pain.

It was a nightmare! skinned hands and blue air =)) But worth it, looks good.

yeh, blue air on my drive Sunday too, still got skin missing from the stupid stereo hole. another annoying thing is keeping the all the bulbs in place while ferreting about trying to find the stereo wires with your hand through the hole.=))

The trick is to check every bulb and switch works before final fixing! can you imagine getting it all back together and finding a wire has pulled off :arghh::arghh:
