My little 1997 1.9 handles like a dog. Well like a dog wearing roller skates on ice actually.....

So = my first significant upgrade is suspension and I spotted the set up on the link below (I hope the link works) and I'd be very appreciative of views from anyone who has fitted similar or anyone who knows more about suspension set up than I do.

I had wanted to lower by 15-20mm, and this is 30mm so a little more than I'd planned, but it is really CHEAP and that's attracted me.

All views and experiences gratefully received either positive or negative. Thanks in advance......

That's a great deal and then some! Not sure how they compare with other makes but I'm sure they are up there.

1)I had a low suspension on my car when I bought it and it was looking stunning, but my mobility was seriously affected. Having in mind to use the car in holidays and mountain roads, I decided to come back to the factory road clearance. And even like that , when fully charged (two adults, full tank, baggages for one month), I have to be careful with underneath bumps sometimes!
2) On the other hand, I bought from eBay Germany a set of aftermarket coils and shocks; the rear were working good but with noise, knocking. So I have to replace it. After that I made more than 35 k miles and i'm very satisfied. The set was black coils and yellow shocks. (Usually the red coils are for lowered and black for standard height).
So , this is my story. Wish you good luck!

Yes that is extremely cheap for those. I've been looking at these on eBay and without springs they're £550.
@Antm72 do you think this particular set would suit my 2.8 as regards fitting etc ?

No joke, check the thread "only test" by Kennet Andersson, in 2014. You will find two pics with baggages carried by the Zed 3. Successfully .

Thanks guys for a couple of views. I've bought the set - delivery end of next week - its from a good source and if its not as described its on a credit card and I'll get my money back and if it is as described looks like I've stumbled upon the deal of the year.

Its too much for my still learning mechanic skills (not really confident dealing with springs under compression) but I have a friendly and trusted BMW specialist in Milton Keynes who'll fit for for 3 hours labour. Given the cost of the kit I think I can stretch to that.

I still need to replace a couple of bushes and the front tyres before the handling should be spot on but I'll post an update when the kit is on and let you know what I think.....

That price is fantastic!! I'm working with a fellow to buy a used set of the same items with 20Kkm on them. He removed them from a customers car because she insisted she could drive in normal speeds over speed bumps etc. Less than £100 plus shipping. Priced out here at well over £550. Good luck I await the results! JIM
