Not sure why you think that, GDPR has been put inplace to protect the public
ths is my point Pingu, most if not all dash cams record audio, how many videos have we seen online in recent months that have full audio? It was not too long ago we had “do you know who it am, who, I’m Ronnie Pickering!!!”
GDPR is about personal data that you have provided to any party to protect you from misuse of that data by that party or anyone they contract to use it, not to protect the public as such.
You can photograph anything in a public place unless it is a prescribed location. Eg MoD property.
You can photograph any property from a public space but you need a commercial release to use that image commercially if it is only that property in the image.
You cannot photograph on private property eg shopping malls etc without permission.
Now, the issue with GDPR is that images are stored as data. Does that constitute personal data provided under that act?
Unlikely to happen. That will render every digital camera and phone in Europe unusable.
It would also prevent live tv from public places like football matches. That isn’t the purpose of the act.
If that were the case then Kodak and Ilford would be smiling because we’d all go back to film.
