I wouldn't worry too much about the corrosion issues. Before the zed I ran Porsche 928's and 944's that were galvanized (in an 80's fashion) that took the best part of 25 - 30 years before sill corrosion became a serious issue.

My issue is outer sill cover edges which have not been looked after. there is paint erosion from road grit thrown up from the wheels (best form of paint remover I know) which has never been corrected and has now allowed some bubbling under the edge of the paint.

The dealer would not have any concern over the paint as it is an old car and the paint has been contaminated from the oil and unburnt fuel exiting the exhaust long-term. I'm just surprised that a high profile and well respected main dealer serviced and stamped the book continuously to just 2000 miles prior to me purchasing the car.

The simple fix of changing the PCV system and replacing the intake boots and associated vacuum tubes/seals and rebuilding the Disa valve has now resolved both issues. Shame it was me that had to do the work
