Sport seat restoration

Mate the first thing a said once I'd looked at your photos was Bloody Hell
I know I've said it before. I take my hat off to your hard work.
I can't quite believe it mate, I really did think they was a write off :eek:

I'm over the bloody moon mate, like a kid at xmas :D
Heres a front on, the right hand bolster was collapsed, it looks nice and sharp now

Thanks Bazza, I kept hearing about this masking tape called "frog tape" apparently it is great for stopping paint creeping under, so I paid £5 for a roll thinking it would be better then our standard stuff, I spent about an hour masking the blue out, moved the seat into the spray booth only to discover it was letting go all over the place, at this point I was tempted just to get on with it but ripped it off and started again with the bog standard stuff which did its job perfectly :mad:
 
Strange that the frog tape let loose Sean. But I guess it was designed for interior latex paints as the glue expands and blocks bleeding common with lesser types of tape. Glad the old standard worked so carry on, can't wait to see the finished project in the car pics!! JIM

When I painted the blue I only did the base coat as I wanted to put the clear coat on the whole seat in one go, the base coat is very unusual when dry, kinda rubbery
 
Thats how the liquid leather was a rubbery type of coating takes alittle while to fully cure but seals nicely
