Already sourced some heater elements mate, all the way from China :D
 
Had a bit of spare time today, nothing to exciting, more stripping of the leather paint.
Got most of the drivers back rest done

Also finished repairing the collapsed bolster and tried the cover, you can see that the stitching now runs over the top

I got fed up with removing the paint and decided to have a play with the door cards, they are in very good condition but need taking apart to be done properly

They are held together by melted studs, the tops need removing to get them apart @littlefeller

I have also sourced an upholsterer that will replace both of the wrecked bolster panels with new ones for £80 the down side is that he can't get me in for 2 weeks, at least I will have the door cards and passenger seat to keep me busy, I also spoke to the Furniture clinic and put a package together that I will need,
 
Looks like you're doing a proper job Sean. Makes my effort look like a bit of a bodge =))
 
I always thought the outside seat bolster on both seats was designed to be flatter to allow easier seating until I've seen your good work Sean.
Your really going to town on these seats and I'm sure will do you proud once finished

I hope so pal, still might of bit of more then I can chew, its a bit of a steep learning curve.

My expectations are rather high mate, they will be dyed, not painted, and will be clear coated with hard wearing polyurethane and then finished with satin clear coat, just hope I can put it all together the way I planned, had a big fail with hydro dipping the inner door trim tonight :mad:

good to see your taking it on, infact it has convinced me to re-dye/tidy mine up too. thanks for showing the inside of the cards, project woodie is a go.

I tried dipping the narrow door trims and couldn't hold them properly, got my fingers dipped in carbon, the bit that got me so angry is that 95% was perfect but I kinked it in one place, barley noticeable but it would have annoyed me every time I looked at it.
 
how annoying, can you put long wood screws into the pegs that hold it on, then hold on to these maybe.

You would need small self tappers, it will be easy as the pegs are hollow, but I think I am going to use a hot glue gun.
