What's Frankie's soft top, is it a 2.8? That does look like a real classic Gaz.

Tony.
I'll take some pics of it today and post them later as I must go to Philly first. I have a 325ci '02. You'll laugh when I say this but I never checked the engine size except that its 6cyl. Take a look at this older vid of the 3 series. If you want one, its probably a good used car to get if you don't want to use the Z3 as a daily driver or you need 4 seats. Frankie

It's a whole lot of money, but someone may think it's worth every penny and buy it. Then it is worth every penny. Not to me though!

Silly money but somebody will buy it I suppose :wideyed: Nice though. Saw a Series 1 Escort RS Turbo for £60,000 recently:wideyed:.
This can only mean that the resesion is over :)

£60000 for a white lightening RS TURBO! Wow! Never in a year of Sundays is it worth that sort of money. Quite rare if it's a custom model but £60000, no!

Took a quick vid of the car but didn't use a good compression for the vid because I didn't want to wait 2 hours uploading it to u-tube so I used a quicker one but the color didn't show up very well, sooooooooooo.... I go t this as a family car, a car to go out with where I might have other people come along with me. I liked the convertible like a Z only bigger. Its a nice car but I only paid 1k for it. 151k miles. Got some other seats for it from Ohio and a new center console, and also a kidney grill for the front and a replacement rear view mirror. Also it will need new shocks and tires. I hope that's all,.........well see. I'll take some other pics when its good to drive. Frankie

Here are the seats. They were asking up to 2K for ones in excellent condition on e-bay. Generally, they would run about 6 to 12 hundred. I found there for 4 hundred. I offered 3 hundred and they went for it as they might not have been easy to sell for 2 reasons. First, you had to pick them up, no shipping, and secondly, they were red. I had drive out to Ohio above Cincinnati to get them, about an 800 mile round trip. They had a tear in the drivers seat which was sewn up for $65.00.

I love driving the Z but if you will be with other people, you always have to use their car. That can get old quickly with them.

Obviously Gaz has reached a strange time of life and needs Psychiatric help to get through it. Stick with the Zed Gaz you'l never regret it.
Meanwhile you should visit our psychiatrist Dr Hardtop, of Hardtop and Badmangee, Renown Nutter specialists, i'm sure he will be able to help you.

I have enough medication to keep me going for now! I can't see me having a Zed forever, and I don't have the funds to stretch to 2 cars. I love driving the Zed, just think it may be time for a change.

I saw the series 1 RS Turbo at the classic car show too and yes it was stunning and stood out from the other one that was there on one of the clubstands but for someone to buy it for £60k they are seriously nuts. The guide price from Silverstone Auctions was something around £52k so they were expecting it to fetch a fair fey pennies and resulted in a bidding war from what I was told. It undoubtidly has gone from one temperature/humidity controlled cocoon to another as whoever bought it certainly is not going to drive it at that price.

Gaz I understand your pangs for a change of motor as I have certainly had them myself but I would be a fool to change even though I have probably done less than 500 mile in last 12 months but then mine is an M and that little bit more special. The e30's are nice but even more old school than the Z3, I think a nice sorted e36 328 would be a nice choice as they are from similar era to the zeds.

Their therapy is to find a garage and park the Z for weeks or months at a time and just look at it. Frankie

Perhaps you just need to take a step UP with the Z:

Not being rude to any ///M owners but all that really gives me is more power. It's functionally not any different to what I have now. I'd like an M at some stage, but not really that fussed by one at the present time.
