Hi All,
Within next couple of days I will be collecting my 2001 Z3 2.2 sport! I have never owned a BMW let alone a roadster of any sort!! My kids think I've gone nuts, until my daughter came with me to see it, the first question was, "Can I drive it sometimes please Dad?" she was sitting in the drivers seat before me!!! Mmm maybe I have made a mistake!
I picked up on a few interesting articles on the web from Mike Fishwick, which led me here. A bit about me I'm mechanically illiterate - but just about spell it. Wanting a bit more from a car than my old Merc CDI can give. Might get acquainted with the oily bits (with lots direction). Last time I did any mechanical work was 1972 when I changed a mini engine, that gives away my age, I'm retired. There are some issues with car I'm getting some tramlining a bit very small rust spots x2. Buying from a prestigious Porsche outlet they took it in on Part ex. and want rid, at the moment it sits with cars worth up to £89k, yes my daughter was interested in those as well, we spoke about getting a lottery ticket. No numbers came up!! Stewart

Welcome Stewart!
Excellent choice, if I may say!
Soon you'll have to buy a second one, as a wide selection of Zed, on very good prices, is available on the market.
Plenty of advises and good advisers here on the forum....
When the Zed will be at home posts some pics here too!;)

Welcome to the forum. The tram lining could be down to the type of tyre that is fitted

A fellow 2.2 Sport owner to join our growing sub group

Once you get the tramlining sorted you sound like your are good to go! As Billz says, tyres are a good place to start along with tyre pressure. What make/model you got on there at the moment?

Cheers, gary

Good choice of car to purchase! - It was my part exchange................. Unless they swapped tyres you should still have the Goodyear Eagle F1's Asymmetric's all round - but I can vouch that it did tramline even with those. I'll keep an eye out for you when we're visiting relatives in Sutton Bridge! Enjoy - it's a sweet engine!
