Have you checked that there is no damage to steering rack or arb , many years ago my boy was driving through local roadworks when he spotted a raised manhole cover couldn't avoid hit cover and bent steering rake , his steering became very tight until rake replaced , yes probably going to fast

I have been reading on here that the z3 has less turns left to right than other bmws im thinking it may just be a characteristic of the car.

That should not be the case, the rack should be centred before any tracking work is carried out. If I understood what you mean, more turns from the centre to left than centre to right?

No what i read was that the rack has less turns left and right than any bmw before it so it turns in quicker
