No problem Andy, where are you off too?
Off on a 3 year secondment to the World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO), based in Paris. Carrying out Peer Reviews on Nuclear Power Plants around Europe, South America and Scandinavia, which is nice.:)

Agreed JIM :(

Sadly we are going to have to withdraw from the cruise. Mrs Ragtop has got the chance to go to Svalbard and has invited me to with her! Svalbard has been on her bucket list for a long long time and it has come up at a great price.

A real shame Ron, hopefully we'll meet up somewhere else this year :)

Hope so too Brian. I look forward to reading posts as the cruise weekend begins, also hopefully lots of pictures.

Booked into Crianlarich for Friday & Saturday nights.

Look forward to meeting everyone - we will be there for 3pm or earlier, as not too far away, presume nothing planned for Friday and I can order an early beer?

Dave & Rachel.

Brilliant Dave, look forward to meeting you both, and everyone else I have not met before.

I'll update the the thread over the next few days and weeks with some more info as it is me I'll soon be upon us :)

HI Guys and Gals. My Hip is now fixed and the Zed is going for an MOT in the next few days. I ought to update the Project thread Sorry! I am starting to think of the route up etc and have looked at my cheapest options as I have no money so as there is a group stopping off at Penrith (and I can't find a booking I thought I had made for a stop off point) I thought I would look at the YHA (youth Hostel) near Penrith and YHA Helvellyn looks like a good call so I was thinking of booking that it is 14 miles from Penrith into the Lake district. I thought we might do a Bunk type thing either with ladies in one room and men in another or combined but all in single beds. there are various options and it is about £15 per night per person. Anyone up for that? we can take our own Booze in etc and sit in the lounge rooms. etc etc try looking at www.yha.org.uk this may work as well http://www.yha.org.uk/hostel/helvellyn

As I say I am looking to do something around the Penrith area so that we join in a group drive up to the Scotland Hotel. Thanks for this Brian! and I am coming in the Zed as I have not yet done anything on the Westfield engine is still not back in having fixed the head gasket and I have done nothing about getting it registered for the road either.

Also if some people want to group up en-route on the Thursday I am also up for TRYING to co-ordinate that.

Let me know folks.

Hi Duncan, @La_vida_diver, we are already booked into the Penrith Premier Inn with @Bazza and @zedwheels is booked in about 30 mins away in Tebay. Brian is driving to the Premier Inn on the Friday so we will convoy up together. You are very welcome to join us.

If anybody in the group that is staying over at the Crianlarich Hotel has any dietary requirements can you please let me know by PM, I will then forward this on to them.

Thanks

Brian

That is the plan due to my Fiscal (tight a***) situation I was thinking of a bottom of the range option as well the Premiers and Travel lodges are much more expensive at the moment. I thought I had booked into one of them but can't find my booking so guess I intended but didn't. My relations live an hour further up the motorway and also inland so decided not to stop there as it makes it too complicated.

If anyone fancies joining up lower down the country, on the way up to the Penrith/Tebay we can also make that happen I think. It doesn't make sense for you or @zedwheels as you live so far up but maybe @Bazza and we can meet further down country for instance. I think as @MikeE89 lives just round the corner we are likely to travel up together but we have not sorted that yet.
Oh and @Brian H someone had to do it so... Dietary requirements for me are "food & drink"!

Duncan we are traveling up early and visiting friends:)
but it would be niece to meet up with the rest in Penrith for the onward journey to Killin:thumbsup:

Hi Guys and Gals
@MikeE89, Rachel and I with @Nutty_Hazel as passenger in my car are staying at the Troutbeck inn so 15 minutes from Penrith Premier inn/Travelodge so let us know the plans for both the night of Thursday and also Friday morning. We have a breakfast included between 8:30 and 9:30 on Friday so can be there from about 10:15 ish I would think how does that work for the onward "cruise"

By the way @Brian H do you have any idea yet of the likley areas we will get to tour. for example west coast, north of Inverness or all south of Inverness, Cairngorms, Trossacks . From previous visits I know there are a lot of differing sceneries and roads and am looking forward to it whatever you plan.

Hi, Duncan great news indeed, no times have been planned for the onward journey as yet, who's hotel is further up the country to meet at?:)
