S50 progress thread..

Ok so work still taking place on the hardtop...one thing that has come to light is that all the rubber needs treatment...so that's the next step before I go any further with it..however it is looking lush..!!

You have worked wonders with that top mate. It looks very nice indeed. I'm glad it went to a man who could make some thing of it.:):) That colour in that light takes some beating.

Cheers Tony...I'm happy with it..just a bit more fettling and it's right.
It's still came in cheaper than buying one and having it sprayed.

All the rubber in the car has now been treated.
The results seems to be good on the initial inspection.
All very glossy and seems to have softened up slightly.
 
I treated all my rubbers with my Turtle Wax Platinum series tyre dressing.. It cleans, softens and lubricates (silicones) all in one. Not sticky.

But the spray.
I've soaked the lot in it.


The ugly mug in the Sig is a guy I used to know....he's got a top car....the paint work is great....It's been protected from UV rays.....!!

well the start of the winter is here so more work begins...!
after a re-gass the system looses pressure after around 3 weeks....so after 2 attempts to find it and using a sniff test it seems to be the condenser.
as us M owners know the air con condenser is no longer available for our cars...and theres seems to be no after market version out their (even though they claim they fit ..they dont ).
so it looks like a recore is in order.
so its off and read to be sent off also new OE O rings bought from BMW.
the dryer will also be replaced.
