So, I decided to get my z3 2.2 sport steering wheel refurbed by Royal steering wheels as they look so good!

just a question to anyone who has already done this. I have opted for padded rather than extra padded as it looked a bit too chunky in their gallery. Anyone have any views on how they feel / compare?
TIA Clive

@137699 Dave can you show the guys your royal wheel in your coupe.

Dave will show you the one he got done with flat bottom and think just standard extra padding ( dave will know )

Think if memory serves @Mark Parrish
Mark also has a royal wheel in his red zed .

Im sure when they see this they will be happy to post up the pictures and spec.

But seen a few royal wheels at Zedfest etc always look great trimmed and stitched the way you want.
Its amazing what they can do considering the diameter doesn't change.
On my list at some point.

Stephen.

I had my standard Z3 M Coupe wheel refurbished by Jack at Royal Wheels back in 2012, highly recommended as quality of the work is second to none. Lots of owners on here and other Forums have used his services, haven't heard of any complaints. The options are much more varied than when I had mine refurbished. They even do flat bottom modification, see below
I found the steering wheel rim too thin before before it was refurbished as I'd been driving a E46 M3 for three years and had got used to the thicker padded rim on that car. I found the refurbished wheel greatly enhanced the driving experience.
That's mine below

cheers guys. Can’t fault the quality just unsure whether to let Jack know I want extra padding or just padded which I believe is 1-2mm more than the standard wheel

Me, I'd go extra padded. Just gives you a touch of luxury.

It's personal preference, for me extra padding made all the difference. Only you can decide I'm afraid.

Extra padding every time IMO. Had 2 done so far.
