I should add to that my Dad's blue is far and wide my favourite and I thank everyone involved in getting it in shape for me to someday take over the keys from such a wonderful generous man. Although life has been a struggle for both of us since my birth and subsequent adoption in Canada, I have never forgotten the man responsible for my being the man I am today. He lately has stepped up to accept me finally and has more than made up for being a deadbeat Dad by offering me his pride and joy Rosie. I only wish he could reunite me with all my brothers and sisters if he knows where all twelve of them are so I can get to know them over again and hire them to take care of Dad in the home he will be occupying for the rest of his days. I would do it myself but feel I must continue his legacy on this forum and become a leader of all the troops he has single handed brought together. I'm sure between myself,@pgunter & @GazHyde we can help get the car down south and across the channel. keeping this legal i see two options

1) Hire a car dolly

This can be towed on a standard licence. just need a car with a tow bar. This can be hired from various places around the UK.

2)Is to hire a truck to carry the car again these can also be driven on a normal licence only stipulation is being over 25.

3) if someone has a car trailer we can use for a little road trip up north.

Once the car is in our possession I.E my garage if you give me a couple of days i will get an MOT done (dont ask no questions dont hear no lies) you can then drive off into the horizon together

Buddy no one wants to impose but a lot of folk get pleasure out of helping others,if only in a little way.it may be an impression of our society that it's every man/woman for themselves.but given the chance giving a helping hand is very rewarding .dont be afraid to ask...what's the worst that can happen

@miller1098 and @oldcarman the thrill of the chase and the idea of doing things yourself is great.
But, even over here now, the prices are dropping on our old cars.
How ever much I would love to repair the trusty (not rusty) old girl, there is not much point, sorry to say.
I could go out and buy, for example, the following....(but I am still keeping the old girl)

Private seller: € 4.150

Oh, and the asking price for 'my old girl' was Euro 9,600.00 back in 2009.
