Not wishing to be pedantic, but it was me that went into the store to get them and bought the doughnuts;). Pauline looked after the Zed:whistle:
Oh well in that case you're in trouble .......as you were in the zed shed with us you ought to have made a nice mid afternoon cuppa presented with a lovely dough nut each ;).
I know what your plan was Dave,to hope they'd avoid attention so you could take them all back for later endulgance at home :p=)).

It's one of the first things you learn as an apprentice:rolleyes:
Very true I remember it well....along with all the pranks that get played upon you as an apprentice as well.

Very true Dave, I realise the training at the A Team has been slipping. It's on the list!;)

Would be interesting to see some pics of these 'tractor' springs and if they have any markings on them.

Not many options for a Z3 so they must be from a pretty heavy duty car with separate spring and shock arrangement.

Car is looking nice. You'll find a new found joy in cornering once you get used to the new springs, especially come summer when the roads are less slipppery.

We didn't measure the cross section of the coils which we removed Dino but they were almost twice the section of the ones we fitted and were almost exactly the same length when stood side by side. Dave said that he felt no body roll with the old set up but that it was a harsh bouncy ride, little wonder really. Plus the original rear shocks were knackered.

Twice the section...tough spring indeed...maybe this car was a test for an Italian Job style bank heist then they realized the boot was too small to fit enough gold and went back to using the Mini instead!

OK all were done and back home, huge thanks to @t-tony for his help today and to @Sean d, @Mint and @Bozzy for their contribution. Lovely to see Shirl and Pauline as always. It's all been good fun and great to catch up with folks.
The car in my eyes looks 100% better and drives superbly compared to before. It was touch and go on the clearance on the front, it is rather snug to say the least :wideyed:. Afraid I haven't got a clear picture of the whole car as it was dark when we finished and I couldn't fit it all in in the shed but you get the idea.

Thanks David. Really pleased with how it looks. Couple of cosmetic bits to get on top of, damaged alloy to get repaired, a ding in the boot lid and a machine polish which I need to get onto now before I gain shares @billz cleaning kit!
