Well a new to me roof! Left at 5.30am yesterday morning to head down soooooooouth to @spurs fan in a coupe to get my roof fitted that I spotted on one of his new projects a few weeks back. I jumped at it as it's blue and i'd decided I wanted a blue one to replace the tired out black one that I think was the original. It's a long job, mainly preparing the surfaces for the new bonding but all told took about 6 hours. I have no desire to do another one and I don't think Andy does either! I bought a few parts back up norrrrrrth that a couple of other members have bought while I was down there. Given the roof a good clean today and I'm chuffed to bits with the result.
Thanks Andy for your help yesterday it's much appreciated mate.

As it was.

The roof has white stitching which I really like and not seen before.

Lastly as we were beavering away the local "care in the community" bus pulled up dropping off the local reprobates outside Andys gate. Rough looking bunch to say the least!!

After managing to draw some sort of conversation out off them they told me they were called @Rha @Oldguysrule @GazHyde @pgunter @Lee and @Rally! :D

Looks good Dave, Do like the contrasting blue roof but prefer it down under its cover.

Top job mate, like it

Or, to put it in local talk .......... Lubbly chubbly innit geezer :D

Is it a bit of mare to change the roof is it?
Not difficult to get it out and drop it back in but the prep on the surfaces takes an age. If your putting a used one in or using the existing trim you have to clean all the old sealant off all the surfaces to put the new sealant on. Took 3 hours and it's bloody horrible stuff. Gets everywhere and sticks your hands together.

Looks good Dave

Andy,

It's Luvvvvly Jubbly... if you are trying to do a Daring Buds of May ... lol...

Looks great mate, glad your happy with it! I'm still picking the sealant out of my finger nails!

Did the audience give any assistance or just stand and give critique lol

No, just abuse. You can't distract them too much while they were "working"

Tar mate. Two, No names mentioned, Two of them did assist in lifting the new one into position and like Gaz says, they were busier handing out the abuse lol!

As for giving them abuse, well no chance, we couldn't get a word in edge ways with their winging and wining about the sticky stuff, in fact we got so fed up with it we all went off to Fleet services for refreshment, and not only that we could hardly understand the one not from around these parts anyway.:bored:...........:tumbleweed:..................=)).
