The work has started with refreshing my diff and strengthening the boot floor.

Has anyone had any experiance with aftermarket LSD units?

Mine was well overdue for a refresh and besides looking like its been at the bottom of the ocean it was in really good condition. Oil looked horrible and I was not suprised but the bearings and factory Torsen unit are all in good shape. Just not sure its worth putting the factory Torsen back in or upgrading to something else and selling it on. I wouldnt mind a bit more lock up but not sure its worth the expense.

Depends what you want to do with it mate. The factory torsen unit is tough, my only gripe being is with its design it turns into an open diff if you lift a wheel.

If its not broke dont fix it. Fit new bearings and crush sleeve :)

Or go all out and fit a gripper!

Thanks for the advice. Only issue I am having is getting the pinion out. It seems to be welded in and I have to take to to work for a bigger press. My little hobby unit isn't budging it.

Yeah shes pressed in with a bearing each side and a big nut on the outside. I have a photo kicking around if needed.

Not a problem. I have done a lot of diffs in the past for my off road stuff. Was just surprised at how tight this was. Normally I can get them out at home but this one isn't moving.
