Well it will be 3 years soon since I drove the Imola M from Portsmouth to my shed, and over 2 years since her initial rebuild at Zedshed HQ :sorry:

Shame on me ;) poor old thing hasn't turned a wheel in all that time, so here starts the final push .... finally (if I can find all the bits ) Just the wheel arch liners and badges to go back on then a full service and MOT.

I love this car. Red on red looks superb in my opinion. If I had it I'd buy it.

Looking good! In your travails did you ever come across anyone who could supply the trailing arms? I need to replace the right one...

Thx. I shall give it a go!
My understanding is the M has it's own trailing arm. So on that basis you're unlikely to meet with success asking a breaker. On this forum or anywhere as they rarely get broken - certainly in the UK.

If it was me I'd be looking at US and German breaker markets. There might just be a little more chance there.

You may also want to think about having the old trailing arm reconstructed. I don't mean repaired. I mean a new one made using the old as a pattern and salvaging any complex part eg the machined bearing housing. I have the name of an expert fabricator and panel beater in South Wales who's done a few little jobs for me with outstanding results if you want to PM me. What I've asked him to do is a drop in the ocean compared to what else I see in his workshop. Here's a small example - from what I believe was a complete rebody. His prices are very reasonable too.

Just twigged the connection following a PM from bp etc. As I said in the PM, a guy on .net was breaking an 'M' but must be couple years ago. May be worth a trawl on .net and see if he's still active. Apologies for re-directing your thread Niall.

I already tried that and am waiting for confirmation that it is the right part. Having said that, several reviews stated that this company sends our used/wrong parts. So the search goes on...
