So we had an in between jobs to help out a fellow zedder. @Tracey Dee needed a list of jobs doing but didn't quite trust the local garages. So we offered to help.

First off I got the car in the air and made a list of jobs but getting man flu along the way slowed things down =)).

Jobs:

rear discs
rear pads
powerflex diff bush
Aux belt
Fuel filter
Gearbox oil
Front drop links

A few details and pics from this evenings efforts. Nice early start this evening, so a relaxed session with an early finish too :D

Lovely to see a completely unmolested Z3 in the 'shed as well...

Whilst Lee was changing the gearbox oil and fuel filter, I set about stripping out the air intake system and cooling fan so we could get to the serpentine belt which was cracking. Not the worst of jobs to do on the 1.9 as there is plenty of room around the 4 cylinder engine to work. Once stripped down we found the belt supplied was the wrong one so Lee's gonna pick up another one tomorrow and fit it.

Next up was the diff bush, which put politely was completely fudged... :bag: Fell apart completely when we pushed a large bar in to the middle to pull it out!

First time we've done a diff bush on the ground, and it's not the most fun of jobs with limited room for movement. But, I left Lee to that bit and did some other things... This picture shows Lee manoeuvring the hack saw in to position to start cutting out the metal sleeve from the original bush.

...and the purple PowerFlex replacement in place.

We've discussed this before, but can't until I can a new sticker supplier... Tempted to give Dreamline Jess a template for something like "I've been to the #ZedShed" tee shirt or mug. Could be a fun little memento for visitors...

Way to go guys once again, I know @ Tracy Dee has an aversion to local garages as they seem to cost an awful lot of $$$ so it's nice to see the car back to good health and should be for some time!! JIM

Thanks to Lee & the Zed Shed Gang for doing all the outstanding work needed to make my car 100%
Perfect mechanically at last. she is now mechanically spot on.
I could not have had all this final work done without your help I am very grateful to you all for keeping my 20 year old car in tip top condition.
I am so pleased you said she is very clean underneath for her age and nothing else requires attention this year.
I look forward to picking her up at the weekend.
Many thanks .
Tracy.

Amazing. Once I get my Audrey back and I finally ditch my garage I might consider driving up to where you are to introduce her to you guys...

Well done guys, looks like more great work. It was sunny here today so I got Bluebird out and gave her a good run.
She handled really well, especially around the roundabouts. The back end wouldn't even twitch, despite my best encouragement.
Thank you again to all at the Zed Shed for all you do for us.
:thankyou:
