Do they not have the correct colour powders to avoid painting or what is the rational behind painting the coating? I think you will find the same problems as with the original paint showing up. In the paint not the powder coat though, it's tougher than nails. PM me if you need any advise on polishing, it's one of my passions. JIMFound a place that does polishing as well as refurb.

My spokes will be powder coated and then painted the colour of my choice (a mid silver, not as bright as before, sort of like a shadow chrome but not so heavy).

They in state now, hardly any kerbing but the diamond cut lips chipped and corroded easily and the original paint finish was pretty thin so chipped easily. Winter use didn't help.
New finish should be much harder wearing and have style 78's for winter.
Will need to get some polishing kit to maintain the lips but noting beats a proper polished alloy finish (pics just don't do it justice).
Can't wait to get them back in a week or two!
