The wheels should look really good when done.

Loads on eBay Ken search bmw z3 wheel bolts, you have to ask if they're correct for those specific rims maybe. Looking forwards to see the wheels when you have them done.

Found a place that does polishing as well as refurb.
My lips should look like these when done:

My spokes will be powder coated and then painted the colour of my choice (a mid silver, not as bright as before, sort of like a shadow chrome but not so heavy).

They in state now, hardly any kerbing but the diamond cut lips chipped and corroded easily and the original paint finish was pretty thin so chipped easily. Winter use didn't help.
New finish should be much harder wearing and have style 78's for winter.
Will need to get some polishing kit to maintain the lips but noting beats a proper polished alloy finish (pics just don't do it justice).
Can't wait to get them back in a week or two!

Do they not have the correct colour powders to avoid painting or what is the rational behind painting the coating? I think you will find the same problems as with the original paint showing up. In the paint not the powder coat though, it's tougher than nails. PM me if you need any advise on polishing, it's one of my passions. JIM

Good point re paint in the powder coat, it's for the cloud if finish I want but I'll check into what options are available in powders, thought it was quite limited but a quick look online shows endless powder coat finishes so I should find the equivalent powder to match the paint colour.

These just came back.
The spokes were done in my special shade of 'brake dust'. I literally got the wheels in the shade of dust I wanted then dropped then off to match up the colour!
The pics don't really show it but it's darker than before, will show up when fitted to the car.

The lips could not be as highly polished like with split rim set up so went with a diamond tip polish which I really really like- it has the machined look much like my Storm Motoweeks gearknob and handbrake but with more texture. Gives the wheel a more purposeful look in my eye.

Really pleased with the finish, better result than expected.

This was all for £300 including vat.
The place is in Meopham Kent:

They are helpful guys and good service.
They came recommended to me by a Bodyshop who used to use Lepsons but now uses Rim Tec.

Can't wait to clean them, seal them and fit!
Will need some fresh centre caps as a treat and (much later!) some nice studs and nuts to match.

Wow, that dish . Look incredible, sooooo mch better than the last time I saw them :D
They were very sad back then!
That what 25k miles including winter does to lacquered deep dishes! The rears just caught the stones..

They also had very fragile paint.
The dish was alway too shiny for me but I love the design, dish, the fact they fit perfectly.

So the plan now was to give it a a premium finish, how it should be from the factory.

Rim Tec were really helpful, even waiting for me to go and check the paint colour before the lacquer was applied to make sure it was what I wanted.

I can't tell you how happy I am with the diamond tip polish, gives its a really nice luster and the paint now is a deeper metallic colour with a proper coat of lacquer.
