The location looks like either the Dordogne or the foothills of the French Alps? Even in 40 degree heat you do not really need to put the roof up - if you have air con and are dressed appropriately. I favour jeans, a long sleeved shirt with a loose silk scarf, thin leather gloves (sunburnt hands are not fun!) a baseball cap without the usual poly foam lining, and plenty of sun cream.
We have just come back yesterday from the Alps and over 35 degree we had the roof up as couldn't manage heat, under that we had the roof down with the A/C on. Unfortunately @Mint is having an A/C issues!
