The whole runners are smaller not just the opening

Fair point Tim if that's the case. Even so there would have to be some advantage in opening out the manifold ports to match the head port size at least? How much I've no idea but it would certainly aid in the flow of air into the engine.

Would be of course, however they have integrated o ring style gaskets so would be a mega faff and not worth the gainz

Got me thinking again now. I have talked about this with @Antm72 as he had one on his old 2.8. I'm chomping at the bit again now.

This is a great mod to do and very effective on the single vanos engine.
The car turns in to a completely different animal its the best pound for pound mod you can do for power, the gains you get are large for the cost and anyone having done the M50 manifold conversion will say the same im sure.

I was only interested in the difference between the 2.8 and 3.0 however, it's worth serious consideration - £400 for 30bhp, almost a no brainer if you can afford it.

It's a bolt on mod and a few small adaptations for 30bhp extra

The thread above covers the M52TU 2.8's which are the facelift version and twin vanos. The pre-facelift are the M52 single vanos and use an older manifold from the E36.

He had better, Im getting ready to take it up the strip for @Grumpy at Santa pod this year.
I heard autos are good for it, just hold the brake and get revs up, smoke the rears, sidestep the brake and mash the throttle and away you go.
A increased rev limit will help too while you at at @Grumpy
