Not using your car?

Mines been off now since Jan 1st. I’m sure most of the oil will have drained down so is there anything I should do before starting the engine again??

Didn’t see if anyone responded to this Malc. but I would just start it normally and just make sure the idle isn’t too fast, if it is switch straight off, then restart by which time it should have built up oil pressure.
To be honest it’s not such a long time.

After the winter storage I normally take the fuses out for the fuel pump, and turn the engine over to get the oil moving around the engine. Then put the fuses back and when the engine starts the oil is already around the engine.

If it had been stood longer I would agree but we're talking 16/18 weeks only. But definitely worth doing after a long period of none use.

Interestingly I went to move the cars again this morning. Z3 was OK but the X1 started but came up with warning that the battery was very low and needed extended running or charging. It been 6 weeks since last used , just been moved on drive and road. Handbook says its may need charging if not used for 4 weeks. I fully intended to charge it after charging the Z3 a couple of weeks ago ---only have the one charger.
