Hi there,

A very quick intro from me. I'm Matt, from Somerset and I am the proud owner of a 2.8 Manual Topaz machine, which has owned me for about 18 months. It's a 2000 MY and supposedly a Facelift (see my first post for details !). I'll enjoy chatting with you knowledgable guys (and gals). I've already found loads of info on line, alot of help reverts back to posts on this Forum, which is why I chose this one. My first post is coming up and relates to Heated seat swap. Nightmare, but working through it.

Cheers.

Hello and welcome to the forum. If your car is a year 2000 it will indeed be a facelift with a twin vanos engine M52TU

Hi Jack, it's a facelift, but the wiring loom for the seats is pre-facelift - so my new heated seats (facelift) don't connect without butchering the wiring :banghead: .I read dozens of posts on this issue, all helpful. I am fairly handy with wiring diagrams, soldering etc, but I've bitten the bullet and gone for the BMW adaptor harnesses. It was a straight choice between easy wiring change or plug and play at an extortionate cost. I decided that the wallet would be taking an extra battering this Christmas.:(

I did the same thing and bought the adapter harnesses too. Did you fit sports seats ?

no, not sport seats - they are identical to look at as the ones I took out. I'd say they are much lower mileage though. They aren't in yet however - I don't get the adapters until tomorrow.
I'm trying to load a new conversation, open to the Forum, but it seems I have to invite up to 15 members? Not sure if this needs to go to admin as a query somewhere, but seeing as you have replied already (thank you by the way) I thought I'd ask you.
