Cheers Tony and Slam,
Did the tyres yesterday and put 32 psi front and 34 psi rear - this was just what the previous owner had scrawled on the manual.
I think the correct pressure should be 29psi all round if you are running standard 16inch wheels. I have a 2.8 and run the 225/50/16 tyres at 30 Front 32 Rear which seems to work.
The recommended tyre pressure will be shown on the drivers door frame.

Hi and welcome to the forum, I would definitely go along with the diesel spill, the Z shouldn't be much different to the MX5 in that situation. :welcome:

Hi James and welcome from Queensland Australia. My 97 1.9 litre Zed rides well and grips like Tarzan at 27.5 psi all round on 16 inch rims. In Oz we generally run our tyres 4 psi higher than stated because many of us do long (?) distance high speed runs than city bound poor buggers who don't get the chance - however, I am under the impression that the BMW Z tyre pressure figures already take that into account. Could be worth further investigation.
