TBH MIke, the way they pile up the snow and ice across our gateway I wouldn't even attempt it in my tractor and it's 4wd. It's usually about 2-3ft deep and probably at least 6ft wide. It would marmalise my poor little Z.

Hi Frankie, The EAC is a collection of Forum Members, most of which reside in East Anglia, with a few regulars on the outer perimeters. Apparently Hard Top would like to become a member of the EAC, as he is always waxing lyrical about our small, but active association!! If he succeeds, he will be the farthest 'Eastern Member' ever!! Mike & Sandy
If HT is the farthest East I must be the farthest West EAC member;)

All the horses made it back to the corral. Close your eyes and pull out. (Sorry about that.) I would think you must hate parking your car up close to the road risking an accident from a passing car or anyone who might lose control while passing your house.
I have a different problem. When they plow our street, if the cars are in the driveway, we get plowed in. If they're on the street, they still get plowed in. It takes an extra half hour of shoveling to get each car out. I also have a Ford F-150 4x4 pick-up. I love it I don't care where they plow the snow. I'll get over it or through it. Its really great. If I use it to take my wife (she is a dealer at Borgata casino) and myself to work 2 days each, or 4 working days. it has paid for the insurance for the year and the state registration fee.
Tonight we are supposed to get record cold, about 5 degrees F with a wind chill of about 10 to 15 degrees below 0 F. Tomorrow is also record cold. I brought in a load of wood for the stove. Should be enough for 2 to 3 days.

All our cars are off the road on the drive so about 20' from the road. We don't get ploughs down our road never busy enough they say so the first night after it snows there is sheet ice all over as it will have thawed a bit in the day and then feezes overnight. Makes interesting driving to get to the main road.

Most of our storms the last few weeks have come across the Atlantic so don't go sending us your cold weather please Frankie we need to dry out a bit first.

I can't stop them from coming your way but perhaps I can give you a 'heads up' warning a few days ahead of time.
One year, we had record snowfall, more than any year since they kept records. One storm after another, non stop. About the second week of March, someone sent me an e-mail saying: 'Its so nice that spring is nearly here. I've even seen the deer starting to move around in the back yard." And along with this was attached a picture of two deer. I've never seen a picture quite like this. The two deer were walking in snow that was up to the tops of their necks. How they were able to walk through the snow, I don't know, but all you could see were two deer heads and six inches of neck pushing through the snow. If I can find the picture, I'll send it to you.
