They weren't interested in a cash deal, no discount.

Take out the PCP and £1700 discount.

I think she'll be settling it soon afterwards, sales guy said she could.

Can I advise checking all the conditions , I went as far as getting the salesman to confirm ( on email) I could pay off after 3 months and only pay the interest for the 3 months and no early settlement or any other charges. I had my payment plan set up and confirmed before placing the order.
PCP was a good deal for me , cheapest way I could get the car, considering BMW contribution of £2500 if I took pcp.

I have an engineering background not accounting , so put it all on a spread sheet including the loss of interest involved in paying it off.
We had previously looked at this with a Nissan ---- but it did not work,so we took a very very very low interest rate from Nissan.

Going back to the opening post would an extra £120 a year/£2.40 a week stop you from buying a car? I think a big reason is that we are uncertain which fuel our government will demonise next. They have done a compete u turn on diesel fuel in favour of electric power but many of us are reluctant because of the up front cost and poor range. We looked at an electric powered Renault but the outright purchase price was too steep and leasing the battery negated any savings over fossil fuel. As you were for us then lots more like us.

Must admit for a car to go to and from work which is all I do in mine now that's a gift. Got another 2 years left on mine though so I'm stuck but if I wasn't I'd be very tempted as it's only 12 round trip a day now.

I've just bought my first new car (October last year) in 24 years. Well I say bought it's no surprise it's on a PCP. No idea whether I'll buy it at the end, give it back or get new.

I did the same, ended up nearly putting half the value down. But I want the payments to be minimal.

I went all Italian, 8K deposit from me plus a deposit from Abarth to sweeten the deal, Gap insurance included and first years tax. I got to choose the spec. LSD, Bucket seats, Monza Exhausts. Brembo Brakes. Koni FSD suspension came in around 25k with 10k miles a year all for £200 a month.
