I bought a Z3 last week and have failed to remove this gunk on my paint. It comes off in tiny bits when I scratch it off with my fingernail, but this isn’t a viable method… any ideas?

Not sure what that is.
What you could try is same method as to remove bird droppings that are baked on.
Get a microfibre sponge or similar Get it soaked in reasonably hot water apply to area then re heat sponge and apply again see if it maybe softens it so you can wipe it off.

Stephen.

Its an injected rust prevention compound that had wept out. Had the same on a Granada years ago. Good luck trying to remove it.

Did you ever remove it?
No. didn't try too hard tbh, but white spirit should soften it, works with old thick waxoyl, may take a while and many applications.
