Well on a whim i bid and ended up with a Z4 to add to the collection! Mechanically first impressions very good, engine and gearbox work with usual BMW efficiency, new roof motor now in the boot and a fresh MOT.
Bodywork not so great, although no accident damage as such has a cracked nose, scuffed wheels and a few silly little dents and chips.
Interior looks OK, no rips or tears so should be able to bring that back to something better without too much effort.
All the electrics seem to work including air con, power roof and music.
Plan to get it something like then part with one of the Z's but which one?

Good luck with your project @Paul Rice :p
I bet your Z will be in tip top condition soon ;)

Lets hope you can bring it back to its former glory

That's a lovely colour combo z4 you've got Paul,I can Remember a while ago you was on about you weren't happy with your z3 paintwork, and was considering repainting it,but when I've seen your z3 it always looks great iff I'm honest,on the subject off which one to keep,I love z4s ,or some people call them the dark side,I totally disagree ,I love the z4 it's a great looking car, zeds are like a fine wine, like which wine do you prefer red or white,in my case, I love both.
Jimmy.

Once you get your first application of TLC it'll soon start to look something like Paul. I like the red leather too, would like some for mine as soon as I don't need to use it for work any more. What mileage has it done mate?

Tony.

That looks like an easy project for you Paul and if you get it to the same standard as the Z3 it will be a belter. I agree with Jimmy Weston that the Z4 is a great sports car but I am firmly in the Z3 camp. I bet you end up keeping both, his and hers.

Welcome to the Z4 gang

Looks good, looking forward to see what direction you go with it.

Its on 93k at the moment, Over the last four years done the show thing and even done a Track day with the 3 but now of a mind where driving and track days more appealing, also Holidays difficult with the 3 but the 4 a different beast fancy touring further a field.

Two completely different cars Paul. Whichever one you decide to keep will be good, but all I can say is my Z4 is better for me as an everyday car mate and I honestly do enjoy driving it as much, no probably more than my Z3 if I'm honest, because of the bigger motor.

Tony.

Wow, congrats Paul. Is it a 3.0? What would I do??? Well I think purely because your 3 is a 1.9 i'd let it go and make the 4 an absolute minter. You have a good eye for detail so know it'll be turned out looking it's best when it's sorted.
And your right regards touring. Get over to the mainland and enjoy the French countryside in more comfort with considerably more boot space!

Its a 2.5 (192bhp) so certainly quicker than the 3, well in a straight line.
