The start of my build....
First things first....my 'garage build'.
I have spent the last few days making my garage 'fit for purpose' as it was a complete mess with too much junk and not enough space. First thing was to sell the car that was taking up half of it. That has gone. I made a workbench at one end with some MDF I had lying around and some PAR timber (which I had to buy).
I then bought some 50mm Jablite polystyrene boards and insulated both up and over doors and between the ceiling trusses. 2" x 1" roof batten is there to stop any insulation from falling down!
I installed a filtered centrifugal duct fan to extract any dusty, or smelly work. I had all the materials except the fan which was very cheap. It will change the air in the space around 3 times an hour, which is more than sufficient. It extracts behind the jablite on one door as there is loads of air gap around the metal door. The door sized piece of insulation fits into the frame of the pedestrian door so I can keep it warmer when the weather is really cold. I will be getting a small electric workshop heater next week.
The eagle-eyed may notice there is no car in there yet! The Z3 donor is being delivered on Thursday. I have been really lucky in that I have bought the car from a chap who is a serial kit car builder and massively into Fezza replicas. He has introduced me to several people already who should be able to advise me on all sorts of things 250 Cali related.
I would like to document to my build in detail, as I have no clue what I am doing, so may help other novices in the future (with any luck but don't hold your breath).
