GLWMOT
High level brake light seal ?So, been suffering with little puddle developing in the little left hand side well in the boot after heavy rains since I’ve had the car. Changed the aerial grommet and has the tail light out to check the seals. Neither of those have stopped the leak. I suspect it comes in somewhere between the panels near the boot hinge. Tonight I took out the plastic grommet in the well, cleaned it up, applied some Vaseline and put it back just in case it was the weak link.
Don’t think so. There’s no damp on any of the lining and no visible drips, which leads me to believe it just finds a way through the body.High level brake light seal ?
I was thinking of a less thorough, but equally effective method involving a quick wipe down and hand applying a dollop of something. Don’t really want to take the bumper off and open up a can of worms unless I have to.Wire wheel it all back and use some tiger seal and paint back over the area once dry. That’s one tricky one to detect.

Yes, it also feels so much better than the one I had. I didn’t realise how bad mine was. It looked quite good, but was entirely plastic. Standard one is bigger and heavier.Great to see it installed, really looks good and will match your M wheel perfectly. Very cruel of the previous owner to glue the old gear knob on!
