Ownership that is!
It's now two years ago this week since I got my Z. I joined .net and now .org and have read with interest everybody's progress and banter etc and noticed many names and cars (not so much faces) come and go. I was wondering how long everybody had owned there beloved Z's? :x
Cheers Jon

Well I don't actually own a Zed !
Officially it's Dot's car.
She wanted a soft top and liked the look of the Z3.
Never having had a soft top before we bought it in February just to see what open air motoring was all about.
That was February 2005 by the way.
It's still with us
We still love it and
It's mine when the fuel tank is empty :)

Only 2 years and 2 months for the Z3, and 10 weeks for the Z4.

But what fun I've had in that time. Met a few dodgy people through owning one ;)

Do you miss the modding bug from the 3 Gaz? I worked out how much I'd spent the other day on mods and with the cost of the car on top I could have bought a lovely ///M but I know I'd miss sourcing the additional bits.

It does seem to be a car that people do think I'll have one summer judging by the number of owners some cars have had when you read the adverts. But equally there's a hard core, I can't ever imagine selling mine :)

Yes, and no! There are plenty of things I could do to the Z4, but it doesn't really need anything done to it. Will be getting the wheels refurb'd soon, but thats about it other than a few irritating stone chips.

The Z3 was a great car, but as it was the basic model it needed stuff doing. A few of the changes I made improved the car, and a few were to make up for some shortcomings, like the uncomfortable standard seats. But for all the tinkering and several thousand pounds I spent, I just couldn't get comfy on long journeys!

It's with my mate, so I can still drive her. He's pestering me to swap it for the Z4 for a week or so soon. I think I have the best of both right now.

Mora is our second Zed, she has been our pride and joy and we will celebrating our first anniversary at the end of this month, if you have a look at our progress thread, 'Strippers Ahoy', you can see that the project has snowballed, especially as far as my wallet is concerned :-ss #:-s

However for three and a half years before Mora, we had a silver 1.8 which we enjoyed tremedously and joined .net in 2009. and haven't looked back since. :)

Zorg has opened up a completely new world, with some geniune people, who we can now class as good friends and has given a new meaning to owning a ZED! :ymhug:

Had mine 2 years as off last week. Loved every minute of it although I've spent over half as much on mods and things for the car as I paid for the actual car itself.

Will never get all the money back but it still makes me smile after every time it's been washed and for every comment I get from different people about it :)

The finish you've got is amazing ^:)^ I'd love to get mine done but I'd be miserable at the first stone chip

Two years seems to be a theme so far, I know what you mean about the mods. You've done some great work, it's looking great and the best colour too :D

I got fed up of polishing the stone chips :ymsigh: besides when you have to park inbetween Z3cade And Badman gee, it makes you feel somewhat lacking!!! What with Hornel And Matt also on the horizon at Zedfest, something just had to be done :D

I'll spend some time in the summer doing some pics and getting all the info together on the car so i can document it all on here.

There aren't many mods, well a few, i forget what i have done to it over the years :)

It needs a bit of TLC with stone chips and swirl marks and a very slight graze from a stupid part of a garage door (had forgotten about that as it's not immediately noticeable and will see about getting it done before July). There are some pics on here and there will hopefully be one in the pic of the month competition too :)

I got it with 5,000 miles on the clock and i think it's on about 67 or 68k now or something like that, might hit 70 - 72k this year :)

Only had my 2.2 Z3 since November 2011 after getting rid of my 2 kit cars (getting too old for owning cars that things drop off every few days!). Since getting it I have replaced the driver's seatbelt as it was not retracting , had a new rear window put in, had a dent removed from the bonnet, done an oil service, replaced the water pump and renewed the air filter. Have enjoyed the Z3 more than I thought and I now fancy a trade up to a 2.5 or 3.0 Z4!
