Looks a fairly straight forward process, especially with a conversion "kit". I'm new to the Z3 and M52B28. I was advised that the M50 manifold conversion is not as good and suggest to go with some ITB from RHD engineering. It looks like with a remap there was quite significant gains. 36bhp if I read correctly. Thats a massive gain for the small cash invested

Is this the RHD kit you mentioned:

it’s coming up at £1,5k
Would love ITB’s but that’s pretty chunky money especially compared with the M50 which used to be a few hundred- maybe different now?

I’m hoping you are going to say that you have found another source for ITN kits at half the price!
