Major refresh started

Fine job. Never thought about repainting wiper arms, great idea. My pax side wiper arm (just) catches on the bonnet. Understand the fix is to replace the wiper consul (north of £200).

Bonnet is in primer now.

The wipers arms had caught on the bonnet at some time in the past so repainted them and pleased how they turned out.

Looking at the Jack and being sad I decided to repaint it as well, still work in progress.

The wiper (o/s) on my Z3 caught on the bonnet due to wear in the wiper spindle, there wasn't that much but it allowed the arm to contact the bonnet on fast speed, so might be worth checking Brian. Keep up the good work mate. :)

Tony.

Thanks Tony I will have another check but I think I cured it a while back when the car was last painted.

Jack reassembled.

Windscreen is out, going to replace it as there is a large repaired stone chip in which annoys the passenger. Makes painting a lpt easier as well.

Tpok the horns off as looking manky so used the electrolysis on the bracket came up very good overnight.

Very nice indeed, can't beat that look of fresh paint

Along with the smell of fresh paint too. I used to love the smell of cellulose the morning after drying before the masking came off.

What sort of clips and stuff did you have to buy and was there anything that needed taking off which needs to be renewed again as it can't go back on? How easy are the window seals between the top of the door edge and window to get off? Just looking at issues I may come across incase I go ahead with getting mine repainted.

It's looking great by the way

Clips were the trim clips for the black covers on door opening, aerial grommet anx few others . I'll check when we're home.
Window rubbers are easy to pull out and easy enough to put back again. Need coming off to clean them any way.

Busy enjoying the view now.
