Thanks, are the plans for turbo(s) or S/C. If so you may want to drop the CR somewhat. Is the crank being offset to allow for a longer stroke? Sorry for all the questions but very curious about the overall plan! JIM
Hi did think about supercharging but the problem is the amount of hp it takes to work the thing. The end gain is around 200 hp with a charger for a build cost of around £4000.
I can pull that from my engine for about £1200, It looks like people who convert that way have not sat down and worked out basic hp gains.
My intent in hp gains, now I have a better understanding of the engine and what components will add is now around the 300 mark.
This will be with a turbo and red_line of 8000_8500. So some serious head and cooling work will be called for.
As per
@GazHyde and chasing hp being expensive and addictive could not agree more. We have had a few chats about this with
@Lee and
@pgunter and the financial implications of a build like this.
At the moment with all the research and parts found, not getting the most hp out of this build would be a waste of time. Spending money on the bottom end and then nor releasing the full top end potential, there is no point.
I hope to get the build ready for spring next year, so plenty of time for summer fun and seeing how good those 2.8/3.0,s look in my rear view mirror
