as it says ,any ideas how to stop next doors cat from sleeping on car roof ,leaving hairs and pulls in material. I am trying to avoid having to put cover over each time I park.
This is a real problem discussed on many forums.

Is your car parked on your own driveway? Or on a public road?

Inform the owners of the cat that's it's damaging your soft top, recorded delivery letter.

If it continues get photographic evidence and send them a bill.

I'm sure the cat is also putting scratches on your bodywork when it gets up there.

Small claims court.

I couldn't hurt someones pet, but I'd be livid if one was damaging my car.

Spraying it with water will cause it to make a very violent departure from your roof almost certainly causing even more damage.

Suppose I'm lucky the Z3 lives in the garage.

I couldn't hurt someones pet,
I could, horrible creatures.

we have an old witch in our road that takes in strays that promptly sh1t everywhere. We had to pave our front garden in the end. Court orders and neighbours from hell tv program hasn't completely cured it.

Try, a saucer of milk, disolve 2 paracetamol into it and add a little anti-freeze. Make sure hedgehogs can't get at it, only leave it out for short periods and dispose of the evidence.

Not even worth making slippers out of them. :rage:

Enough of the unsavoury comments please, I'd hoped that my earlier post would have conveyed that message.

Have put a mat over top ,heavy rain so no sign of cat.
Fortunately it does not go on the car body , comes over fence onto roof. Our dog keeps it away from the rest of the drive.
Decided to get a small half cover , that should help, and be quick to put on.
While not really wishing it harm, it does annoy me the way cat owners seem to consider it OK for their pet to wander[and mess up] in everyone's gardens---most owners of other pets do not take this attitude. In fact I can not blame the cat ,its the owners.

Recorded delivery letter to the owners telling them their cat is damaging your car.

The least they would do is to pay for your extra cover, i would if it was my cat.

Your own children can be as bad if not worse - you have to live with them =))
Next door has an ultrasonic sounder out front - Not seen any cats there for a long time.
